Furoshiki table at IKI

I love the Japanese concept of wrapping gifts, books, bottles, fruits etc.
with the furoshiki-method
IKI installed a table with silk western scarfs to do furoshiki-wrapping

Amuletta "nearby"

The first concept-jewel in the new "chosen by IKI" is: Amuletta "nearby"
The inspiration was the feeling I had when I was a little child, laying in bed,
under the soft woollen blanckets, it gave a comforting, happy, safe feeling.
This soft jewel is handmade in an edition of 3 x 3 different sizes,
from pieces of a woollen blancket and bordered with white silk,
guided with a poem of Jan Busschaert (poet of Bruges)

"Chosen by IKI" has restarted

with a new concept:

besides my own work (conceptual jewels and objects)

there will be work from other artists/designers

and a nice selection of vintage Japanese items,

as kimono, haori, michiyuki, obi, chawan, ..

Mizuya-tansu

Finally: the first Japanese chest is in Chosen by IKI
a mizuya-tansu (kitchen-chest), Kyoto 19th century
to be filled with Japanese items
such as kimono, haori, obi, chawan, bamboo baskets, ...

Cloud - Kumo

The first new cloud-object I've made, is mounted on the ceiling.

Now the kumo (Japanese for cloud) is waiting for some company!
